211 & Mental Health Partners Working To Help Place Jerome Golden Clients

SOUTHEAST FLORIDA BEHAVIORAL HEALTH NETWORK, NATIONAL ALLIANCE ON
MENTAL ILLNESS, 211 HELPLINE AND MENTAL HEALTH AMERICA ARE PARTNERING TO
HELP PATIENTS NAVIGATE TO PROVIDERS IN THE WAKE OF JEROME GOLDEN CLOSING

November 20, 2019- The community lost a tremendous mental health resource with the closing of the
Golden Center for Behavioral Health in mid-October. A collaborative effort between the leading
behavioral health navigators in south Florida will now assist those in need of services to access the
provider network in our community. Southeast Florida Behavioral Health Network (SEFBHN), National
Alliance On Mental Illness (NAMI), 211 Helpline, and Mental Health America (MHA) are collaborating
and forming a network of information that will assist in pointing people in need of services in the right
direction in the most efficient manner.

“At a time when we are in desperate need of more inpatient beds and mental health services, the Golden
Center has had to close its doors. It will take all of us working together to help pull the pieces together
for those who were receiving treatment.” says Sharon L’Herrou, President CEO of 211 Help Line.

“People can dial 2-1-1 or text to 898211 24/7 if they have any questions, or need help navigating issues
related to the Golden Center closing. Online chat is also available at www.211palmbeach.org.”

Jeremy Morse, CEO of Mental Health America Palm Beach County, could not agree more. “We hope to
be more impactful in helping those struggling to find services. Our partnership with 211 gives the
community a centralized “hotline” for updated messaging about what’s being done to relocate important
