Catherine Abbott Butters
Catherine's journey began in Palm Beach County, where she spent her formative years. After completing her education at Boston University, she embarked on a career as an actress in television, film, and theater, primarily based in the cities of New York City and Connecticut.
However, it was in 2009 that her life took a profound turn when she was diagnosed with Batten disease. In response to this life-altering event, she decided to take action, founding Catherine's Hope For a Cure (CHFC), a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for research on neurodegenerative diseases.
Her personal battle with Batten disease served as the catalyst for this cause, which strives to provide support to families navigating the challenges of neurological diseases while also contributing towards research aiming to find cures for Batten and Alzheimer's disease. Her story is a testament to the power of one person's determination to create change and bring hope to those in need.
