211 to Offer Life-Saving Suicide Prevention Training in February

BOYNTON BEACH, FL — In recognition of February as 211 Awareness Month, 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast is highlighting its commitment to mental health, crisis support, and community well-being by offering a two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) workshop on February 11–12, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The in-person training will be held at CSC Palm Beach County, located at 2300 High Ridge Road in Boynton Beach.

February 211 Awareness Month shines a spotlight on the vital role 211 plays in connecting individuals and families to essential health and human services. As a free, confidential resource available 24/7, 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast helps residents navigate challenges such as housing instability, food insecurity, mental health needs, and crisis support—ensuring that no one has to face life’s challenges alone.

ASIST is an internationally recognized, evidence-based training designed to equip participants with the skills needed to recognize the warning signs of suicide, provide immediate support, and connect individuals with appropriate resources. Open to anyone in the community—regardless of background, profession, or experience—the workshop empowers everyday people to confidently intervene when someone may be at risk.

“Our goal is to equip as many members of our community as possible with the tools to recognize warning signs and take meaningful action,” said Ty Barnes, President/CEO of 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast. “Suicide prevention is a shared responsibility, and this training gives participants the confidence to make a real difference when it matters most.”

The registration fee is $50 per person, which includes all training materials for both days. Participants may also opt to add lunch for both days for an additional $30. To receive credit for completion, attendees must participate in both full days of training within the same session block.

ASIST workshops are interactive and engaging, featuring group discussions, hands-on practice, and real-life scenarios. The program is produced by LivingWorks and delivered locally by 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast, a trusted community navigator serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.

Space is limited, and registration is required. Enrollment will close one week prior to the start of the training.
