211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast Highlights Lifesaving Support During Mental Health Awareness Month
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast is reminding the community that help is always just a conversation away. Emotional distress can affect anyone at any time, and 211’s highly trained, compassionate frontline responders are available any time of day or night, 7 days a week to provide support, guidance, and connection to critical resources.
Each year, 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast responds to more than 120,000 requests for help across their five-county service area. As the region’s only free and confidential 24-hour crisis hotline and community helpline, 211 provides suicide prevention, crisis intervention, assessment, and referrals to vital health and human services for individuals of all ages.
For 55 years, the nonprofit organization has served as a trusted resource and lifeline for individuals and families in need—offering emotional support, resilience-building tools, and connections to more than 1,600 local agencies providing services such as food assistance, mental health care, healthcare access, special needs programs, elder support, and veterans services.
In addition to these comprehensive local services, 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast also answers regional calls to the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, ensuring that individuals in crisis receive immediate, compassionate care when they need it most.
“Every call, text, chat and email we receive represents someone reaching out for help in a moment that matters,” said Ty Barnes, CEO and President of 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast. “Knowing who to reach out to for reliable, immediate assistance no matter the challenge can change the trajectory of someone’s mental health journey. We remain committed to our mission now more than ever because no one in our community should feel alone.”
Whether someone is experiencing a mental health crisis, feeling overwhelmed, concerned about a loved one, or simply needs someone to talk to, 211’s trained specialists are ready to listen and help—any time, day or night.
Increasing awareness of available mental health resources and reducing barriers to care remain essential to building a stronger, healthier community. Through continued outreach and partnerships, 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast is working to ensure that every resident knows where to turn for help.
