BrAIve Support Services for Military Personnel and their Families

Nov. 10, 2009 –Our Military Community has been greatly impacted by the tragic unfolding of events in Texas. Many of our servicemen and their families are dealing with the aftermath of this traumatic event.  In hopes that Florida will better serve our troops, the Florida BrAIVe Helpline is making its debut. Community agencies in cooperation with VA Hospitals, Vet Centers, as well as state and county programs are coming together to provide support to veterans of Afghanistan, Iraq, and their families.

211 Palm Beach/Treasure Coast is our regional 877-BrAIve8 (1-877-282-4838) to assist those impacted by the repercussion of this dreadful act. 211 will provide support to all branches of the military with crisis counseling, and information and referral to social services to military servicemen and servicewomen and their families.  You are encouraged to call the BrAIve hotline anytime, night or day, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  All services are free and confidential. Florida is home to 1.8 million military veterans which is the second largest population in the country.

This Helpline system is funded through The Dade Community Foundation, The Gulf Coast Community Foundation of Venice, and The Community Foundation, Inc. (Jacksonville) as part of their initiative, The BrAIve Fund.
